It’s already November and the festive season is just around the corner, and at Make, were ready for it! If you’re looking for some slightly alternative gifts, or just some merry activities for yourself, we have it at Make! Read on to find out about our classes and events coming up!
What better way to treat a loved one then to buy them an experience with something they can take home and cherish afterwards. We love sustainable gift giving and giving someone an experience or a shared memory is one of the best ways to be environmentally friendly. We try our best to work with practitioners and independent business who use eco friendly, and often reclaimed and recycled materials.
You may have already heard of our woodwork classes, or you might have even taken part in a class yourself. Well now we’ve added some more, and just in time for gift season!
We still have our much loved beginners classes where you can spend the day creating a wine rack (perfect for all of the festive drinks) or a tool box (doubles up as a great planter). And now our make your own bird box class is back by popular demand, a great gift for anyone who loves being in the garden.
But if you fancy a more intensive weekend of woodwork, we have a new greenwood weekend long class with the outcome being your own beautiful stool!
What could be more festive than making your own wreath? A perfect gift for a loved one, or even perfect to hang on your door during the winter season. A great way to put your own creative twist on your christmas deccys! If you’re a traditionalist we have traditional wreath making, or if you love to put a modern twist on things we have contemporary wreath making workshops too.
Try your hand at making willow Christmas decorations with Sarah from @Twigtwisters. You’ll get the chance to learn the techniques to make your own angel and robin. You can find the class here. Or join us for the second class in January where you can weave yor very own stag head, which will definitely turn a few heads in your home!
Our popular macrame classes are back with @tassel_and_twine and we’ve even got some festive ones in there too. You can make your own mini macrame decorations which would be perfect for your christmas tree, or just to hang up around the house.
Want some bigger decorations for the home, we also have festive wall hanging classes available too. A great sustainable, eco craft!
There is also January classes available if you don’t fancy the festive theme.
Passionate about pyrography? In need of some new winter coasters or woody decorations? We have the perfect pyrography class for you, with the help of @passsoul you can make your own festive handmade tree decorations, coasters or place mats.
Our very popular weaving class is back with @theliverpoolweavingcompany but this time with a wintery weaving twist. In this class you can learn how to weave your own festive wall hanging using small hand looms and a multitude of yarns! (Its also super therapeutic)
Introduction to Sourdough Bread
Want to add your own little touch to the christmas dinner? Want to bring something different to the table? Paula will take you through the steps to make your own yummy sourdough bread, a great addition to any winter dinner party and it’s also super healthy! Get tickets here.
Christmas Candle Making
Join Willow & Blossom Botanicals for a day of candle making! During this festive class you will make your own 250g luxury candle and 15 soy wax petal melts. And whats even better, is that you can add some festive scents to your wax, so that you can get your home smelling and feeling festive! come and join us.
Now heres one to look out for. Not only do we have A LOT of classes to keep you busy through the winter but we’ve also got our Winter Arkade.
Thats right. We’ve partnered with our Neighbours, Invisible Wind Factory to bring you Liverpool’s most alternative, festive shopping experience for the second year running.
You can expect to see stalls from the likes of Pinhead, Aloe Jewellery, Toxteth Chocolate and many more.
There will also be a selection of festive themed workshops from contemporary art space Convenience Gallery.
